Boys Inspired

Empowering Boys Through Sport, Mentoring and Positive Futures

Boys Inspired Programme

Alongside our core EMPOWER programmes, PROJECT:ME also delivers a range of targeted wellbeing and personal development initiatives, including BOYS INSPIRED– an Active Essex Foundation (Essex County Council) funded programme designed to support boys aged 11+ to build confidence, resilience, emotional wellbeing and positive life skills through sport, mentoring and structured intervention.

Boys Inspired uses sport and physical activity as a powerful engagement tool to connect with young males. Through trusted adult mentors, positive role models and engaging activities, participants develop the confidence and skills needed to make safer, healthier life choices.

The programme is particularly beneficial for boys who may be experiencing:

  • Low confidence or self-esteem
  • Emotional wellbeing or mental health challenges
  • Poor engagement with education or community activities
  • Barriers to participating in sport or positive activities
  • Social isolation or negative peer influences
  • Increased vulnerability to exploitation, youth violence or anti-social behaviour
  • Challenges around behaviour, decision-making or emotional regulation

Through weekly sessions led by experienced coaches and mentors, participants are encouraged to develop resilience, improve relationships, strengthen emotional wellbeing and discover positive pathways for their future.
